Comprehensive planning assisting families in creating a plan to help ensure continuity of quality care for their loved ones with special needs by coordinating legal, financial and state benefit plans
Planning Services
Using our Blue Binder family system the Center helps families develop and maintain coordinated plans to help ensure care for their loved one with special needs, both during the parents lifetime and just as importantly after.
The Blue Binder family system is a process designed over the course of time that our firm has developed to aid families in implementing these complex plans. As a part of this process many of the following topics are commonly addressed: How to address the $2,000 federal asset limitation to maintain benefits; How to develop plans utilizing special needs trusts to help ensure financial well being ; Implementing guardianship or other alternatives at age 18; Asset management services coordinating family assets; Development of Continuity of Care Documents as an instruction manual for future guardians and caregivers.
Our Mission - To provide advocacy based solutions in the areas of financial gifting, estate settlement, government benefits, self-determination vs. guardianship and life planning in order to enhance and improve the quality of life for those with special needs.
History - In March, 2006, The Special Needs Planning Center formally opened their doors in Liberty, MO. Founded by Scott Adams & Heath Burch, both CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) professionals, The Center was formed specifically to serve families with children or other dependents with special needs.
Over the 3 years of planning that helped develop the Center, the firm has annually presented around 60 workshops for organizations throughout the Midwest, primarily serving Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.
The firm was created out of the need for a comprehensive planning service which would assist families in creating a plan to help ensure continuity of quality care for their loved ones. By assisting families in creating these plans and educating them about their options we know that their loved one will be protected and cared for. Our hope is to remove the stress and fear of the unknown by helping parents ensure the best possible quality of life for their children.
